The shared bathroom was a bit dirty, but the tatami room was a great fit for us.

The bunk beds had curtains for some extra privacy, which was a neat touch. The common area seemed like an inviting spot to chill out after a day of exploring.
The location definitely isn’t ideal—a long, 30-minute trek from the nearest train station. The noise levels were quite bothersome. you could hear everything happening in the building. The bathroom situation didn't help either—only two showers and toilets for a whole wing, with absolutely no space to stash your stuff in the female dormitory. To top it all off, the male dorm had barely any room to fit a suitcase while open.

Had a fantastic time at Guesthouse Kamunabi! The staff were super welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious—don't miss the potato salad! Just a short stroll to Nara Park, but bathrooms could be a bit cleaner. Overall a great place to stay!

great stay , but bathrooms need attention
I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the common area, which made it easy to connect with other travelers. The laundry facilities were convenient for my longer stay, offering great value for a small fee. The staff were incredibly friendly, always ready to assist with any request. Plus, the Japanese-style breakfast was a delightful way to start my day, featuring a variety of local flavors that I appreciated.
The cleanliness of the bathrooms was a concern during my stay.

The Japanese-Style Triple Room was a great fit for our family. It had ample space for our three luggages and a beautiful view from the balcony. We enjoyed the comfy tatami floor and futon beds. The shared facilities, including showers and the toilet, were manageable. However, the faulty toilet on Level 1 caused some inconvenience, especially for our younger child. The host was incredibly helpful, and checking in was a breeze. The international breakfast was a nice treat, providing energy for our day of exploration. On the downside, the cleanliness of the shared toilet wasn't up to par. It needed a thorough cleaning, which was disappointing for a guesthouse. Also, having to rent towels felt unusual after staying at other places where they were complimentary. Overall, it was a welcoming environment, but a focus on cleanliness would enhance the experience.

Chill vibes and fab food!
Had an awesome time here! The bunk beds had curtains for privacy, which was super handy. The common area with the bar was a nice spot to relax. Staff were awesome and offered free earplugs, which I barely needed. Just wish the bathrooms could be a bit cleaner sometimes, but still, great place!
